My first creature ever...

Found an old photo of the first creature sculpt i ever did. I sculpted it out of wet clay and inserted a dental cast I stole from my brother and marbles for the eyes. (Not in the picture is my mother holding the "Thing" - rumpled and half sleeping, because I woke her up at three in the morning. I was afraid that the sculpt would crack before I could take a photo of it.)

Footwraps

In WW1 the German Army gave its soldiers footwraps instead of socks. They protected against running sore, kept warm and absorbed sweat.

Puppet Design - "The racing steam train"

These are puppets I built for a German puppet theatre. The characters were highly deranged, insane and with split personalities. The design was a subtractive process, carving the heads out of wet clay and later rebuilding them in paper macheé.

The Christmas truce

The Christmas truce was a series of widespread unofficial ceasefires that took place along the Western Front around Christmas of 1914, during the First World War. Through the week leading up to Christmas, parties of German and British soldiers began to exchange seasonal greetings and songs between their trenches; on occasion, the tension was reduced to the point that individuals would walk across to talk to their opposite numbers bearing gifts. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, many soldiers from both sides independently ventured into no man‘s land, where they mingled, exchanging food and souvenirs.

Irreversible

Story Idea:
Irreversible
A woman with a blood stained dress and a knive in her hand...
The play goes (jumps) backward in time and reveals a chain of gruesome events thru animated objects and puppets.
